CATTLE SENT AWAY.
TO OTHER DISTRICTS. TWO LARGE CONSIGNMENTS, The fame of Taranaki dairy cattle ''*' has long since spread to various parts f of New Zealand, and frequently breeders from far afield satisfy their requirements by purchasing animals from the herds of this province. Just now there is quite a good demand for in-calf heifers, and several large consignments have been sent away. A few days ago the Farmers' Coop. Organisation Society consigned twelve trucks of Jerseys (in all 100 head of cattle) to one man at Thames. Tn addition to that the same firm also sent to a client on the Hauraki Plains fifty head of Hoisteins, and eighteen : Jerseys. AH the animals were ob- '< lained through the Company in ques- .--* lion, and were selected from herds iu'Cthe Stratford, Eltham and Inglewood * districts, ! It is understood that several additional purchases for outside districts are likely, and it says much for the high reputation of Taranaki, herds that demands should come from so ! far afield.
