Following the decision of the Australian Labor Conference to debar members of Parliament from holding office on the executive of the Aust tralian Labor Party, Mr Carey, one of the recent appointees to the Legislative Council, has resigned from that body in order to stand again for election to the executive of the party. Mr Carey was secretary to the party.
