OURSELVES.

f Recently we have blushingly rc- ! ceived quite a number of laudatory letters expressing pleasure and appreciation at the improvement in the “Evening Post.” One facetious correspondent refers to the “Post” as the “Stratford Intelligence Department.” We modestly respond—We are doing our best to keep ahead of the town’s growth; we have many loyal readers and supporters, and our circulation grows in coincidence with the advancement of the town and country. As compared with newspapers in (other centres of a size similar to Stratford, the “Post” gives infinitely more reading matter daily, and our cable and telegraphic service is on a par with that of much larger centres. Again, we must express our ;thanks to and appreciation of those ; loyal business and professional men iwho frequently refer to the “Post” as I‘‘Our Paper.” It is the medium and exchange for all local information, and the many _ regular contributors, and those people who go out of their way to supply interesting little titj bits for publication, arc directly conjtributing to the education or entertainment of their |el!ow citizens and to the welfare and progress of the town. A farming journal says: “If you like your doctor, dentist, or bootmaker, you glowingly recommend him jto your friends. Why not your j newspaper?” There are hundreds j who have given the “Stratford Even- | iug Post” loyal support for many years past and have always been appreciative of our efforts. Keep abreast of the times, take the “Evening Post,” recommend it to your friends, and give them a chance to become conversant with what goes on in the district. It should be noted that we welcome correspondence on topical matters of general interest. Contribute your opinions, and support your own paper.
