Mr A. H. U. A moss reported on the Vanishing Teas scheme, md the funds received to date, which ~•( s n(licient to purchase materiais lot ■], o coming Grand Bazaar and Sale ol iVorh. A great many of the teas have still to l>o accounted for, and scheme will not work nut for tome little time yht. ft was decided, in any. ease, to push m actively with the preparations for the Bazaar, and the dale was definite! fixed us Friday and Saturday ■ August 14th and u'lh, the fun:tioii .to be in the Town Hall. In reply to questions regarding the proposed conduct of the Hostel when established, Mr A mess said that pupils could be hoarded for the whole week at £1 per head. He also mentioned that the establishment of tire Hostel would give special facilities for the development, of the Home Science instruction in a practical manner, thus adding to the School’s value to the community.
The ladies present at yesterday’s meeting were enthusiastic in support of the project, and are prepared to use every endeavour to make the present effort a financial success, realising that every pound gained for the good work in contemplation will carry a. £1 for £1 subsidy, and that it should be possible without unduly burdening tlie generosity of the community, to raise £ooo which, with the subsidy, will enable the Hostel to he actually opened next year.
