PROGRESS LEAGUE MOVE. INFORMATION WANTED. The matter of night passenger trains between New Plymouth and Wellington was brought up at the meeting of the Executive of ■ "' 1 Progress League last night hv Mr R. Y. Kay, who referred to an article in the “Stratford Evening Post” dealing with the subject, which had been brought up by tlie Taranaki Chamber of Commerce. He thought that they should got into touch with that body with a view to supporting them. Mr W. Coomhridge was not in favour, maintaining that the running of fast trains entailed an extra cost to the Department,. Ho felt sure that the speeding up of the mail trains would mean extra, expense. Mr J. Nicol spoke of the great improvement that had been effected in the Railway service recently, and said the Department were alive to the need of improving the service. After further discussion, Mr Kay’s suggestion was carried.
