ROAD DEVIATION.
STRATFORD TO NEW PLYMOUTH. ELIMINATION OF 3 CROSSINGS. At last night’s meeting of the Stratford Progress League, Mi* S. Ward said that the surveyed route of the main roa<i from Tariki to the old tollgate, was, he understood, along the East side of the line. If that rout© wer© followed two crossings would be done away with and the erection of an overhead bridge over Rugby Road would do away with the third. The Inglewood County Council had made representations to the Department on th© subject, and he moved' that the League get into communication with th© former and offer its support. This was agreed to.
