SIDEY BEQUESTS.

OTAGO UNIVERSITY. Dunedin, June 17. At a meeting of the Otago University Council, Mr T. K. Sidey, Chancellor, offered a gift of' £IOOO for dental bursaries at the Otago University, on condition that the whole of the Sidey bequest being used for the same purpose. This bequest, under the will of Mr Sidey’s father, entitles the Council, at the expiry of certain, life interests, to £IO,OOO, while a settlement by Mr Sidey’s mother provides a further £4OOO, making, with the Government subsidy £15,000, ■ The offer was referred to the finance! and medical Committees.
