CUT TO PIECES.

A STARTLING SACRIFICE. Some time ago Messrs Manoys Ltd. removed their large stock from the building they previously occupied to two adjoining shops which are used as temporary premises during the rebuilding operations. The magnitude T the task involved in transferring a huge stock from one building to another can be readily imagined, and it 'is not surprising that the firm in iiiestion are not anxious to repeat the experience in a few weeks’ time when their new and up-to-date building will bo completed. In addition they have at present large stocks of new goods on the way from the old world, and room will have to lie found for those. Under the circumstances it has been decided that as little as possible of the present stock will be removed but every effort will be made to dispose of it. Of course, a ceuain amount of loss will have to be incurred hut it is thought that that will be preferable to the tremendous work that would be involved in the removal together with the additional task of finding room for the shipments which will soon come to band. Therefore, the firm have decided to sacrifice the present stock and shipments which will soon come to hand. 'Therefore, lie firm have decided o sacrifice the present stock and with that end in view' will, inaugurate a sale which will be very much out of the ordinary in that it will, be in reality almost a giving-away affair. .So that final preparations may be made the firm’s premises will be closed on Monday loth. The sale will commence on Tuesday morning and is certain to be rushed because a visit to the shop on Friday, while preparations were in progress disclosed the fact that most startling reductions in prices will take place. These are far too numerous to be mentioned here but are described in an advertisement in Monday night’s issue. It is sufficient to say that anyone who misses paying a visit to the sale will have cause for regret. This is not a one department sale, it is really a genuine clearing sale because the firm are absolutely determined that the present stock must go. The new premises are rapidly nearing completion and the roof has now been put on while the showroom ceilnigs on the top floor arc in course of erection. Twenty-two men are at present engaged on the job and the plasterers will begin their work on Monday next. The fittings and show cases have been specially designed, and tenders for ibis, work have already been called. A glance at fbo plans shows that these will be up-to-date in every respect, and will he nuite in keeping with the other features of the new building which wdl be a credit not only to Stratford but to Taranaki business enterprise. x
