t his morning to a trend the Wellington University College, where he wilt, take up the 'Agricultural bursary which he gained. The bursaries obtained by Mr Thomas and Mr Bayley Martin, of Huiroa, arc. the first to he won by pupils of the Stratford Technical High School.

‘ Master William Bailey Martin, son of Mr W.'B. Martin, of Huiroa, having gained a bursary at Victoria Col-, lege, .Wellington, left Stratford thus morning, in order to take up his studies at the College. At the recent examinations he gained M.S.P. It ia interesting to note that he is the youngest boy to have the honor oS gaining a bursary.

The following resolution was carried' unanimously at a meeting or the Stratford Jersey Cattle Club held this ■afternoon: “This meeting of mem-, hers of the Stratford Jersey Cattlei Club expresses most sincere regret at the untimely death of thior president, Mr Frank Ranford, and extends to Mrs Ran lord and her family heartfelt sympathy in the irrepal-i able 'loss sustained by, them; this meeting desires to place on record their realisation and keen appreciation of the numerous services rendered by their late President, not only to the Club as a, body, but to ■mo,nir, ber s individually and breeders of Jer sey cattle as a. whole; this meeting is deeply sensible of the fact that any! success which the Stratford , Jersey Club has attained is largely clue to] Jus untiring energy, the ability which, he possessed, and the shill with which, he handled difficult problems.’-
