The book relates the simple facts of the life of a remarkable young woman, whose experiences with sailor smugglers led her into horse-stealing, for which sV> was sentenced to death, bii<; afterwards reprieved and sent Us a convict to New South Wfties. Cut off from her country and her friends and thrown among the interests of society, she nevertheless did not suffer herself to snik into a vicious life, but displayed niaiiy good qualities and wonderful devotion to her smuggler lover.
