Thompson, include the September issue of "The Smart Set," True Story Magazine," (r V\ T eldon's Ladies' Journal," and Weldon's Bazaar of Children's Fashions. They are all good numbers. THE PLATYPUS SERIES. Messrs Angus and Robertson, Sydney, forward a millibar of works of the Platypus series, .Including "Old Bush Songs," edited by A. B. Paterson; "The Squatter's Dream," Boldrewood); "Judith's Garden." (Ma,r y E. Bassett); and "The True Story of Margaret Catch pole." Tlk> latter is by G. B. Barton, barrister-at-law, of the Middle Temple, who lias revised a biography of the English heroine, written over fifty years ago by the Rev. Richard Cobbold, VI the hope of settling several questions in dispute. The book relates the simple facts of the life of a remarkable young woman, whose experiences with sailor smugglers led her into horse-stealing, for which sV> was sentenced to death, bii<; afterwards reprieved and sent Us a convict to New South Wfties. Cut off from her country and her friends and thrown among the interests of society, she nevertheless did not suffer herself to snik into a vicious life, but displayed niaiiy good qualities and wonderful devotion to her smuggler lover.
