The trial, of George Edward Bellinger on a lengthy list of charges of breaking and entering is proceeding. CROWN PROSECUTOR RESIGNS. Timaru. October 29. Mr J. W. White, Crown Prosecutor, has tendered his> resignation, after having occupied the position for fifty-four years. His unique service was aprcciatively referred to at the' Supreme Court this morning. Justice Adams eulogising the long and faithful services of the retiring veteran. GAOL FOR SERIOUS OFFENCES. Timaru, OcfoTSer 9. At the Supreme Court, George David Jury, for an attempt) to commit an unnatural offence, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. Hugh Thomas Gorman McAuley, who pleaded guilty to an unnatural offence, was sentenced to five years' reformative treatment.
