Das. the extremist leader in Bengal, says the peaceful political progress of India has been rendered almost impossible by the action of the Government of Bengal in arresting suspects on the advice of panic-mongers. He adds that the campaign attacks the whole political life of India. The raids throughout the province have now ceased. They resulted in twenty arrests.
The European press unanimously applaud the Viceroy's strong action. The Indian press denies the necessity for such action.
