At the Stratford Magistrate's Const this morning lx»fore Mr C. D. Sole, J.P., a first offending inebriate ; was fined 10s and costs. The enforcement of the borough by-laws more strictly i„ the future i is the idea, that prompted Councillor Ward to move at the Borough Council last evening; to interview the new* Sergeant of Police (Sergeant Reid) with a view to conferring on the matter. The motion was seconded by Councillor Lawsou and carried. Arrangements in connection with 1 the farewell visit of the GovernorGeneral (Viscount Jellieoe) audi Lady Jellicoe wore mentioned at the Borough Council meeting last evening by the Mayor (Mr J. W. McMillan) who invited the councillors and citizens to assemble on the railway station to meet the mail train on Thursday morning. The school children will assemble, and it is hoped to meet His Excellency in the uniform of an Admiral; of the Fleet, his services as such having earned him [treat oopularity. The function, will he a short one. the train being delayer a few minutes only. It is hoped there will ba a large gathering' to farewell our popular Governor' Gonial and his Lady and daughter. Thu school children will he lined up next to the train.
