KING’S THEATRE. TO-NIGHT. Katherine MacDonald, will be seen at the King’s Theatre for the last time to-night in her First National j feature, “The Scariet Lily.” CHTLMIEN’S, CIFJILDREVW A domestic melodrama of the finest, a story of human strength and weakness, is the Paramount, picture, “His Children's Children,” which will be the star attraction at the King’s Theatre, commencing at the matinee to-morrow afternoon. Bebe Daniels, Dorothy Mackall, James Renqie and George Fawcett are in the featured roles. It is a power- I ful story of a family from the first generation to the third, showing the destructive effect of, too much money on the children of to-day. The production has been lavishly produce/, and excellently acted. The supporting Items include a real good comedy. EUCHRE PARTY.
A very successful euchre party and dance was held’in the Foresters’ , Hall on Wednesday evening in aid !of the Town Stall at the Lrtheomj ihg Catholic Bazaar. The hall was j well filled, and a very enjoyable time was spent by those present. Music «as supplied by Mrs Bianchi, and the floor was in A Jod. order. The supper room was prettily decorated, and a nice supper was served. During the eveni tip; Miss Veronica Sheahaii, Tow n Queen,. rendered vocal items, as the result or which corn, amounting to. £2'was thrown on 'to the stage. The euchre prizes were won by the following:—Ladies, Mrs T. McDonald 1, Miss Giipiie 2 ; men, Mr M. McDonald Joyce-2'. The booby prizes were awarded toi Mr Burke, of Waverley, and Miss Wilson. The first prizes, which con•sisted of a guinea each, were donated by the winners of the stall funds.
TENNIS CLUE PRESENTATIONS.
A Tennis Club- dance was held in the Parish Hall last night for the purpose of farvvelling Mr and Mrs C. Clark,, who are leaving the district,. Mr Clark? having been traps-ifen-ed to Wellington, and. Miss Lulu Nash, who is shortly to be married. The function was an enjoyable one, mud a large gathering was present. Music was supplied by Mr •During the evening Miss Nash was presented wih an. entree dish, and Mr Clark with a travelling rug, while Mrg Clark was also made the of a presentation. The presentations were made by. Mr H. B. Lawrence. Mr . Clark suitably responded- on behalf of himself and his wife, and Mr W. A. McKay on behalf of Miss Nash. .-
DANCE AT NGAERE. * A dance in aid of the hall funds is being held at Ngaero on Thursday next, METHODISE SUNDAY SCHOOL TO-NIGHT. The young people’s entertainment in the Methodist Sunday School this evening is in aid of Foreign Missions. DANCE AT MAHOE The usual fortnightly dance is to he held a£ Mahoe. on •Wednesday next. AT TOWN HALL. “Penrod” will he screened at the Town,' Hall at 2.30 and 8 p.m. tomorrow, in aid of the Catholic Bazaar.
