ACCUSED ACQUITTED. Per Press Association. Auckland, May 8. At the Supreme Court the jury returned a verdict of not guilty in the case of AValtcr llohert McMahon farmer of Thames, who was charged with sheep stealing. The defence was that sheep running, on the adjacent property got mixed with accused’s. A verdict of not guilty was also returned in the case of Clarence Russell an t 11 ury James Abraham, charged with havi «g conspired to defrauo .lelferson Davis Edwards ol flp/5 and Alexander Percy Young ol £216. The ease was a redieanng ot a trial at which the jury at the last sessions failed to agree, it mis <i leged the two conspired to induce Edwards and Young to hid R»’ ar*l- - of little value at an “advertising auction” on the understanding that the money would be returned. The defence was that the men bid freely of their own accord.
