SPIRITUAL HEALING
ANGLICAN CHURCH’S ATTITUDE.
London, May 8
The Archbishop of Canterbury, when the ministry of healing was debated, said they ought to remove the misapprehension which was *u considerable vogue that the ministry of healing was adverse to the normal ministrations of medical men. The use of oil, especially if the Bishop benedicted, was fraught ‘with a danger that might result in usages which would change the attitude of many half-informed people, who were seeking cures for human ailments. The church might mislead people if it underrated the weight attaching to the new branches of knowledge, which which were really brought about i:a the province of God by other forces. Extreme caution was required, as it was extraordinarily difficult to decide how much was physical and how much was spiritual. VICTORIAN PRESBYTERIANS. Melbourne, May 8. The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church, while agreeing that it is right for any clergyman who felt moved to practice spiritual healing to do so, definitely decided not to hold a spiritual healing mission in the Presbyterian Church.
