A young man named Bertie HoKlsvortli is to to married before next Monday for tin- third time prior to receiving the sentence of Mr Justice Salnipnd for bigamy and making a false declaration and forgery. The circumstances, us revealed at the trial to-day, were that accused had a previous manage dissolved, hut before the decree was made absolute he went through a form of marrage with a young woman, and to satisfy the registrar that he was legally free to marry he forged the signature of a local lawyer to a false statement that the decree had been made absolute. Counsel for leniency, snyingethat if there had been a short delay no offence would have h?en committed, but His Honour jegarded the case seriously. He agreed, however thai the mat rage of the parties would influence his decision and sentence was deferred till Monday to en able tlie parties to get married, accused being released on bail.
