THE FIItST .ROYAL SHOW. One of the object s of the Royal Agricultural Society is to try and improve the breed of stock right through the Dominion. The various breeders' associations have been accordingly approached by the Royal Agricultural Society to give donitions towards the prize fund for tho first Royal Show, to be held at Palmcrston North on November 4th, sth, and 6th next. The prizes ocered for the royal classes of the show total £1366, with 4G gold medals in addition. To help the Royal Agricultural Society over tin's hurdle the Breeders' Associations of New Zealand lias donated about £250 in cash and £3OO worth of challenge cup?; while the Shipowners' Association, Ichristchurch, has, in addition, given a challenge shield.
