Whangamomona Notes
(From Our Own Correspondent.) A football match took place af I Te Wera between, Whangamomona and Te Wera on Saturday last, the result being a draw, 3 points all. The Whanga team played up to exI pectationand were unlucky to draw. I They are' showing improved form, i and the writer predicts they will. Jle the district champions. Mr H. j Anderson is coaching the team and ; with his experience as a player, will get the best out. of his team. ! In the evening a smoke concert i was tendered the Whanga visitors, when toasts were drunk to each team and an enjoyable two hours were spent awaiting the train home. On Saturday afternoon the annual meeting of the Medical Assdci- | ation took; place, there 'being about |2O present. Mr M. Geever J.P. presented the balance-sheet, which was | adopted. The chairman, Mr T. Tayj lor, then.read the annual report, I which was considered highly satisfactory, although regret '. was expressed at the small nutmber of | members who have to cajrry the burden. Several suggestioms were, made to increase the membership and some advertising . schieme was suggested f.as a means- to increasing the membership. \ Office bearers were elected\ as follows: Chairman, Mr T. Taylor; secretary, Mr M. Geever; committee, Messrs. Penson, Pellett,- W. Gill, Carver, Riley, Dagg, Cleaver, Taylor, W. Smith; auditor, Mr V. G. Catchpole. The new chairman referred to,the voluntary retirement of Mr M. Geever as chairman And j the generous and self sacriflcAng I spirit in which Mr Geever has dfce- | voted his time and attention to th\e I Association.
i A public /-meeting then took place 1 |as to the advisability of securing | the sorvices of a resident doctor, j but all present were not in favour of same, not only because of the [ financial aspect, but they all felt the | services of Nurse Myers were of J such a high standard of efficiency, !that a resident doctor was unnecessary. General regret was expressed by the members at the continuous

All household ! goods—blninkets, sheeting, table- ; cloths, mattresses (both single and double) brushes, tinware, etc. The j range of all requirements of a country 'district is aj wide one, and those in j search of cltotning or household goods or articles (for presentation would do i well to pay, a visit to this store or communicate by letter or phono (No. 1) when tho business will receive 'every attention by Mr Telfer.—Advt.
