LABOR AMENDMENT TO AD-DRESS-IN-REPLY, (Received 0.10 a.m.) Loudon* February 14. Mr Adamson moves a further Labrui amendment to the Addre-s-in-Reply, demanding the appointment of a select committee to inquire into unsympathetic administration of the Wai Pensions Act, with a view to securing the full discharge of the solemn obligations to service 'men an.l their dependents.

(Received 8.50 a.m.) London. February M. The press reproduces Mr Boiiar Law’s speech fully, and genuiaily without comment. The Petit Journal remarks; ‘*lt would appear that Britain consid rs Hie presence of Allied troops in :he Ruhr embarrassing and dangerous. Britain should enlarge her authority and prestige, and require Berlin to erase protesting against the Versailles Treaty, and to accept it as an accomplished fact. The moment ‘ w mld then arise for us to discus« a final settlement, not only with Germany, hut also with the Allies. The discordant note in the French and British views is, principally, the support of German resistance. Mr Bona.r Law remains silent on the. most important question, namely, the pledges.
