’ A shocking fatal accident occurred at tlie Pareora railway station on Friday evening. When, the evening slow train, going south was at tho station a man left it temporarily and tried to get on hoard again aftnit had started. He missed his footing and fell between the two carriages, and both legs wer shockingly mangled. An engine and van were sent from Tima.ru to bring the injured man to town, but he died just before be was put in the van. He was only able to give bis name as “Rennie,” and say “Wiugatni.” The deceased was apparently about 30 ■•ears.
