A Christchurch Press Association telegram records the death of Lieu-tenant-Colonel Cossgrovc, Ch el Commissioner of Boy Scouts in New Zealand. He held several appointments under the Otago Education Board, and in 1899 became headmaster of the Kaiapoi native school. He was associated with' volunteering for many years and went to Afrca with the sixth and tenth contingents, hor.ng paymaster of the latter. S'ihse r he became ident'fied witli the Boy Scout movement and much of itg advancement is due to his energy and enthusiasm.
