NOT WANTED. Per Press Association. Dnncdin, January 22 ■ An inquest was opened to-day on the body oPn newly-born infant found in a sack at St. Clair beach on Tuesday with a piece of linen tied tightly round its neck.-* ' Dr Evans said the body was fully developed and 'veil nourished. There was a circular pressure mark on the neck. He was of opinion that the child had lived, and the cause ol death was asphyxia. There was no water in the lungs, showing it had not been drowned. There must have been; some interference with the air supply. .
A constable said the body bad apparently been in the sea, but it could not have been there long. It was found at high-water mark. The inquest was adjourned sine die.
