In the latest hospital reports tne following Taranaki names appear:— Removed from dangerously ill list, F. N. Silk (Stratford), Seriously ill, A. Kemp (Eltham).
Mr W. W. Awdrey, sub-editor of the Hawera Star, is relinquishing the position to take up. farming. On Saturday he was the recipient of presentations from the staff and proprietary.
Mr P. Aitken, who has been om the staff of the Stratford Borough Electrical Department for nearly three years, is severing his connection with the staff on account of ill health, and, it is understood, intends to go into business In Stratford.
News has been received from England of the death from influenza of Captain Richard Riddiford, M.C., cousin of Messrs Eric and Vivian Riddiford, of Wellington, and Mr Dan Riddiford, of the Wairarapa, and sou of the late Mr Richard Riddiford (who died in 1885).
