MODEL DAIRY FARM.

The monthly committee meeting of the Stratford Model Dairy Farm, was held yesterday, there being, present; Messrs J. W. Deem (chairman), J. B. Richards, W. Wickham, S. Piti. R. Dingle. Apologies were received from Messrs R. Masters and W. H. Were. Owing to a full committee not being present, it was resolved that consideration of the question re breed of stock (cows) to be adopted by the society, be hold over sine die. .Messrs J. Faultier and I’. Wellington were elected members. The Secretary was instructed to remind members that the subscriptions for the season 1918-19 are .now due.

CROPPING REPORT

The Cropping Report was received and adopted, and is its follows: Owing to wet weather nothing has been sown during the past month, No, 7 paddock has been disced, tripod harrowed, and rolled and is ready for sowing with grass seeds as soon as the weather permits. No. 9 paddock lias been ploughed' and will be colled, disced; and drilled with various green fodder crops. No. 19 paddock has boon disced, and tripod harrowed over all. It is proposed to sow an area on the South side as follows: — Two (2) acres soft turnips, two (2) acres mangolds, half (i) acre carrots. This area has been further disced and harrowed. It is now being disced, tripod harrowed and rolled down Teadj for drilling. Drilling will be carried out this week if weather permits. Stumping is satisfactorily proceeding in No. 13 paddock. Cows have been tested by the Stratford District High School. The borrowed horse lias been taken away by the owner and our own horses will now suffice. [t was resolved that cows he dehorned ami that the matter be left in the hands of the Stock Committee with power to act. , Accounts amounting to £6l 16s -d were passed ior payment.
