THE MUNICIPAL BAND.
A strong committee iff ladies and gentlemen has been set up in connection with the hall to be held in the Town Hall, Stratford, on 14th November in aid of the funds of the above deserving institution. The lady-admirers of the efforts put forth by the Baud for some time past, iu playing away our boys and assisting generally at patriotic functions under somewhat trying circumstances caused by the loss of players, should be 'strongly supported by the public as a whole. The pleasure afforded by the Band’s public performances should ho reciprocated, and when the individual sacrifices of the members are taken into consideration, no excuse remains for not joining in the good work of assisting the Band at the ball and having a good time generally. The ladies wish to make the night “the ball of the season,” and no doubt the 1 enthusiasm of the Mayoress (Mrs J. W. McMdlan) and Mrs Moon, who ar,e at the head of the movement, will j carry it on to success. The decorating, supper, and floor arrangements are in capable hands, and (he music will be supplied by Fox's Band. The Borough electrical engineer has promised" something new in the matter of lighting effects, especially in connection with the “twilight dance.” Tickets of admission may be purchased from Grubb’s Moon’s , and Janies’ shops, Broadway, ami also at the H.B,
