THE RACING CONFERENCE. Wellington, July 11. The Racing Conference passed the following resolutions: Tha.t every license issued by a district committee shall be subject to suspension or cancellation, and en title the person therein named as a trainer or jockey to train or ride ns the case may be during tbe term mentioned, in the license.

That if no dividend-winning ticket is taken on the first horse, the divi deed shall ho paid on the second horse only. If no dividend-winning ticket is taken on the second horse the dividend shall be paid on the first horse only. That a district committee means a committee consisting of the chairman and five members of the committee of a metropolitan club and the office delegates to be elected by totalisator clubs in a, metropolitan district. The chairman of committee of a metropolitan club shall ho ex officio chairman of the district committee, five to form a quorum. If it he intended to run a horse in shoes heavier than racing plates the owner or trainer of such horse must report the fact to the steward prior to weighing out. Every club shall during the month of .'August of each year forward the secretary of the conference an audited balance-sheet showing receipts and expenditure of the club during the previous year.

A proposal declaring as ineligible for election as delegate to a district committee a paid official of any club was lost, as were motions dealing with the crouch scat and the racing minimum weight from Gst 71b to 7st. The conference authorised the issue of an appeal to racing clubs, asking them to assent to the use of surplus funds of war loans and patriotic funds.

Sir George Clifford was re-elected ))resident, Ids service to racing clubs being highly eulogised. Members of the dates committee were, re-elected. ' Mr A.
