STRATFORD MOUNTAIN HOUSE.
A LIVE COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Committee was held, yesterday, there being present — Messrs Jonas, Masters (in the chair) R. McK. Morisoii, 0: Jackson and Percy Thomson (Honorary Secretary) Reports were received as follows: That the caretaker was now in charge and already a number of visitors had been to the House; that the County Council had agreed to repair the upper Pembroke Road, and that the work was already in hand; that the Borough Council had granted the sum of £2.j; that the telephone was now in order and Mrs McDonald appointed Postmistress at the House. At the suggestion of tbe secretary, it was decided to place suitablyframed scenic photographs in the Stratford Hotels and Railway Station, and printed cards in the various garages, livery stables, tea-rooms etc, it being anticipated that the proprietors will be. agreeable thereto.
The chairman nnd Mr Jackson were appointed a. sub-committee to wait on the j3n.ndTua.ster and ask that the Band give a day at the Mountain House at Easter, and to make necessary arangemetvts therefor. The questions of providing a clock and effecting minor repairs at the House were left to sub-committees to attend to.
Messrs Morison and Thomson were appointed a sub-committee to place suitable name-plates on specimens of tiie native Mora o» the House Drive and tracks.
