GRANT APPROVED BY CABINET.

The following .telegrams have passed between Mr R. Masters (-chairman of the Taranaki Education Board) and Dr Anderson (Director of Education, Wellington) ~ To. Mr Masters.—Grant of £I7OO approved for purchase of high school site subject to conditions that the whole block 69 consisting of cemetery reserve and section forming school site be vested in the Crown.

To Dr Anderson: “Your telegram to hand. Borough Council made it a condition of reserve. Will this obtain if vested in the Crown?”

Replied to as follows: “Re reserves. Intention is that sub division 1 and 2 of No. 69 should be added to general primary education endowment.” The result of the visit of the deputation to Wellington in regard to the above must be considered eminently satisfactory.
