REPRISALS ON GERMANY. MANNHEIM SEVERELY BOMBED. CHRISTMAS EVE RAID. Pres. > Association-Cop:, right, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 10.10 a.m?) London, December 30. Official: Further information regarding the air-raid on Mannheim on the 21 tli inst., states that two of our formations of ten machines crossed the line at a height of 9000 feet and arrived at their objective simultaneously. Despite very accurate antiaircraft fire they dropped bombs from a height of 13,000 feet. Four bursts were observed in the main station, several in Lanz works, two in Ludwigshafen, and several in a munitions factory between Mundenheim and Rheingomiheim. Two enemy formations of eleven machines were encountered, but they did not attempt an attack at close range. The anti-air-craft defence around Mannheim, which appeared to tie strong, brought down one of our machines.
