Advance has left a number of good performers as well as many useful farm horses and grows in popularity each season. His sire. Prince Imperial, by Hamfaeltonian Bell Boy, a son of Ulster, by that great sire Rysdyke’s Hambeltonian. Prince Imperial’s dam Princess, undoubtedly . the fastest mare up to her day that the colony* had produced, was by Destei by Caladon (imp ) Among other good racers, Princess won the Exhibition Trot at Dunedin, beating that great mare Calista. Rose, the dam of Advance,is by General Tracey, from Phyllis (Berlin — a daughter of Quick Silver). Among others, Rose has produced Prince Randle 2.21, Advocate 2.20, and Oiotah 2.19. Advance only raced till a three-year-old, he put up a record for the National Cup, Christchurch, beating among others Alberterious and Black Child. Among Advance’s stock already racng are: Sedvic, one and a-half miles 3.40, one mile and three furlongs ■3.15’; Promotion, one mile 2.18; Drum Major, 2 miles 4.47; and General Advance, one mile and a-half in 3.43; Vice Admiral, 1 mile 2.24; Lord Lyttou 1$ mles on grass track 3.3; Buck’s'&Head, Lady Black, Ardroth, Forward, luvictis and many otheis who show great promise.
