Canterbury beat Otago by five wickets. Otago in their first innings made 171. The Canterbury first innings resulted in 171 (Blunt 17, Allardyce 39, Read IS, Gray 20, Booth 31); Mcßeth took six wickets for 52, Livingstone two for 71, Patrick two for 17. Otago in their second innings scored 101 (Alloo 17, Conradi 17, Patrick 38, Gallant! IS); Blunt took four wickets for 60. Thomas three for 2, Read two for 25. In the Canterbury second innings five wickets fell for 110 (Hay 16, Perrin 21, Gray 32, Read not out 34); Mcßeth took three wickets for 50, Livingstone twO for 52.
