BLEEP ENGLAND WHITE.

. «*ss n " v ——- A GERMAN THREAT. It is the declared intention of Germany to try and bleed England white, as shown by a translation published in the ‘'Economic Journal” of September.

The declaration is by Professor Jaft'e, in the “Europaische Staats-und Wirtscliafts-Zeitung.” “The best plant of discharging this ; burden” (Germany’s war debt), he says, “would be to exact an indemnity from England.

“If the submarine campaign attains complete success—which seems not merely possible, but even probablewe have the upper hand of England just as surely as if our troops were in occupation of London, and no false sentiment will prevent ns from exacting at least pne-half of our war expenditure, i.e. Mk. 60-60 milliard (£m.2,500-3,000), as the price of release from our. submarine stranglehold. This sum England both can and will pay.”
