Mr Mossey congratub. lions regarding the result of the election, which was a triumph for the Imperial cause and proof that theCanadians were determined to do their full duty in defending the Empire and bringing the fight to n successful conclusion. Sir Robert Borden acknowledged the early reports indicating tbc dofeat of Australian conscription. He expressed the deep disappointment that it was to Canada and hoped the sodiers' vote would over-turn the adverse! majority.
The press are withholding comment, pending the full figures. Answering Lhe appeal of General Currie commnndi.'g the Canadians, to send reinforcements, the Army and Nmy.v Veterans throughout Canada forwarded the following .message:— "Canada has heard and answered your prayer from the agony of battlefield. All loyal Canadians are determined that a tremendous majority will stand by the gallant men until victory is assured."
