BUTTER CONFERENCE.
TERMS OF PURCHASE OF OUTPUT. Per Press Association Palmerston North, August 16. A conference of delegates from twenty-four butter factories to-day decided to hold a conference at Wellington on August 22, and afterwards interview the Premier on the question of the purchase of the butter output by the New Zealand or Imperial Government. A committee was appointed and authorised to offer to sell the butter output at a price on a parity with cheese, allowing threepence per lb on butter-fat as the difference between skim milk and whey, but was given a free hand to make the best arrangement in the interest of the producers.
