STRATFORD BOWLING CLUB

The following rinks have been selected to play against New Plymouth on Thursday :—Foley, Porritt, Masters, King (skip); Mills, Walters, Sangstor, \V. McDonald (skip); Paget, .Martin, F. J. McDonald, McMillan (skip) ; Lopdell, Hartley, Nicholson, Smart (skip); Jackson, Lyons, J. S. McDonald, Sharp (skip); Woodhead, Eookes, Howe, Bickerton (skip); Sanderson, Curtis, Edgecombe, Morison (skip). Members are requested to bring a basket; visfors and ladies invited. A match for the Pultons competition was played on .Monday between teams composed of Lyons, Butcher, Sharp, Howe (holders) and Woodhead, Wallers, .North, and Morison .(challengers) resulting, alter a well competed game, in a win for Morison's team by 15 to 10.

On account of the large number of entries the selection committee derided to alter the competitions as under:—

Championship to be 21 up instead of 21 heads. The following are the sections: Section A: I'joversedge v McMillan, Edgecombe, J. Masters, Walters, Jackson, Smart, W. McDonald. 'Section B: Lyons, Powc, Martin, Curtis, G. Smith, Bickerton, Morison, Skoglund, Young. Section C: J. S. McDonald, Sharp, Foley. Porritt, Paget, Lockhead, King, F. .1. McDonald, Hartley. Pairs match, from A and B sections to he played in two sections, winners and runners up to play off:—Section 1: J. Masters and H. Masters, Porritt and Eoley, Sharp and Butcher, Rowe and Davey, J. S. McDonald and Walters, Jackson and Woodhead, Le,versedge and Lyons. McMillan and Paget, Smart and Madill. Section 2: Bickerton and Lopdell. King and Spenec, Morison and Pettigrew, Edgecombe and Sanderson, W. .McDonald and T. W. Smith, F. J. McDonald and (I. Smith, Hartley and Young, Skoglund and Coleman. Pairs match from section B: Davey and Sanderson, Lyons and Pettigrew, Walters and Fleming, G. Smith and Coleman, Paget and T. W. Smith, Woodhead and Butcher, Foley and Webb, Chamberlain and Spence, Young and H. Masters, Lopdell and Madill.
