SENTENCED TO DEATH. ♦ FATE OF TWO OF ACCUSED. (Received 10.20 a.m, Sydney, October 19. Kennedy and Franz were found guilty of the murder of Constable Duncan and were sentenced to death. MURDER DUE TO AN ARREST. A DESPERATE CHARACTER. Press Association-—Copyright, (Received 11.6 a.m.) Sydney, October 19. The evidence at the trial showed that Duncan’s death was the outcome of arresting a member of the I.W.W. and the intention to arrest Ronald Kennedy on a charge of abusive language in connection ' therewith. Franz gave evidence that after seeing the constable about the threatened summons, Ronald said the police had stopped it. He arranged the shooting and threatened to shoot Franz unless he participated.
