TRENTHAM CAMP.
MR MASSEY’S STATEMENT

T!i® Prime Minister stated to-day that there have been no more wealths at Trentham camp since Wednc-day and that there is no evidence of ( dicr complaints than a virulent form of influenza. In regard to the statement that dengue fever had made its appearance, he says that he has no reason to believe it, and has received no report from the medical officers ratifying the rumour.
THE REAL REASON.
Wellington, July 11
The Prim® Minister was asked yesterday afternoon for a definite statement as to the reason for so suddenly ishifting the camp. It was pointed out that the public desired the information, and Mr Massey replied:— “The medical authorities told us that the complaint from which a number of the men were suffering was infectious, and that there was no probability of being able to cope with it unless the men were shifted at once.’'
