PRIVATE IRVINE BLACKSTOCK. (Contributed.) Engaged to be married, and looking forward with all the optimism ol youth, Irvine Blackstock was enjoying iffe,but the War'God of Europe sounded the tocsin, and our count-y was in danger from a deadly and insidious foe. Irvine at once volunteered, ami last July joined the first main body for the front, leaving the farm and all those dear to him, as the;.call had come to him . He gave his life in that grand charge at the Dardan-Ml?s, one of the bravest the world ever saw, and with his tent mate, young Fryday, of Ngaere, they did their bit for the Empire. Blackstock was a cleanliving, God-fearing, .man, and he has fought the good light, and henceforth will wear a crown of glory.
