Irvine at once volunteered, ami last July joined the first main body for the front, leaving the farm and all those dear to him, as the;.call had come to him . He gave his life in that grand charge at the Dardan-Ml?s, one of the bravest the world ever saw, and with his tent mate, young Fryday, of Ngaere, they did their bit for the Empire. Blackstock was a cleanliving, God-fearing, .man, and he has fought the good light, and henceforth will wear a crown of glory.
