PERSONAL.

The New Plymouth friends of M V W. T Jennings, M.P. tor Taiunarunui, intend to meet him at the railway station to-night on his return to New Plymouth to give him a welcome. Mr .Jennings will pass through Strabipru by the mail train, when, no doubt, manv friends will seize the opportunity ,to offer their congratulations.

Private Henry O'Brien, who fell while fighting at the. Dardanelles, was brother to Miss O'Brien, matron of the Stratford District Hospital, who has received confirmation of the distressing news by message from the Government. Few, indeed are escaping .the sorrow of loss or injury to some one near to them.
