“SICK OF IT ALL.”

On the morning of the day before Xmas, Alfred Davey, a single man, aged 42, a miner, suffering from miner’s complaint, was heard to say he was “sick of it all,” and would end it on Christmas Eve. Since that date he had been missing, and no trace of him was found until to-day, when his dead body was found in the district reservoir. At the inquest a verdict of suicide was returned.

FELL OVERBOARD.

Sydney, December 29

During the trip of the Moeraki, a saloon, passenger named W. H. Berry disappeared. He was last seen in his bunk at ten o’clock on Thursday night in good health and spirits. Search the following morning was unavailing. It is supposed that he fell overboard. Berry boarded the Moeraki at Wellington. It is understood that his sister lives near Nelson.
