Petrograd, December 29. A communique states: We crossed the Laursing river in the direction of Olti, north-east of Erzerum, and checked large forces. We also occupied the Khamour-Againitz line south-east of Erzerum, the Turks retiring with heavy losses, many being taken prisoners.
NO DEVELOPMENT ON EASTERN FRONTIER.

There has been no development in tbe situation on the Eastern frontier. A few parties of Turks and Bedouins continue to wander aimlessly along the eastern half of Sinai Peninsula, but the long-distance British outposts report that the Turkish railway into Sinai is a sheer invention, The Senussi display a friendly attitude to Egypt.
