Sir Edwin Pears, interview in Lon. don, said he was convinced that in the event of a serious Russian victory in Asia Minor, the Turkish army would revolt against tthe Germans. Turkish soldiers and sailors resent the German officers’ rough dictatorial manner. BOMBARDMENT OF THE COAST AT ROPA. (Received 8.50 a.m. ) Petrograd, December 23. Official: —A Russian torpedoer bombarded the villages on the coast and occupied by Turkish troops in the region of Ropa and sank four loaded barI ges. When the Russian warships departed. a few days later the Bedouin police stripped the Jews of their money and belongings, carried off the children, and sent the parents to Alexandria by steamer.
