ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.

THE ENDEAVOUR overdue. United Press Association. Melbourne, December 17.

Anxiety is felt regarding the Federal trawler, nine days overdue from Macquarrie Islands, where she landed the relief men for the Mawson expedition. According to Macquarrie reports a heavy gale raged for a couple of days after her departure. Arrangements have been made to despatch a warship to Search. Experts are hopeful that the delay is caused by a broken shaft or other mishap. There are twenty-two aboard, including Mr Dannevig, director of fisheries; Mr Power, wireless operator on Macquarie Island; and Mr Harrison, biologist.
