LORD CROMER EXPLAINS THE POSITION. United Peesb Association. * (Received 8.35 a.m.) London, December 15. Lord Cromei', in a letter, says if as it appears, the Khedive has unwisely thrown his lot in with the Germans, it is no great political importance, as his personal influence in Egypt is slight. He must, however, cease to be ruler of Egypt, which country must irrevocably be relieved of the .mortmain of Turkish' sovereignty.

AUSTRALIAN'S PLEASANT CAMP.

The Australian troopers' camp at the foot of the Pyramids is a wonderful sight. Miles of white tents are set up, intersected by streets and thousands of white pebbles are arranged as emblems. The Government is erecting booths for cafes and shops. Admiring crowds visit the camp,watching the men and horses exercising.
