Morison said that
the Works Committee had inspected the two sites and had come to the conclusion Ariel Street was the better.—Cr. King said he thought Ariel Street was probably the best, but that was not the point. The Works Committee were asked to report on Cordelia Street site, and they should have reported that Ariel Street would ho better, but they should not bring down a mendatory report like that.— So far as the forming and metalling of Juliet Street being held over, Mr Morison moved that the formation be gone on, with, as he understood the horses were not going to be used. Cr. Fredric seconded.—Cr. Richards moved an amendment. Under the present circumstances, the Works Committee had agreed to hold over the bridge question, which he considered an important work, and he objected to going on with such formation, which he considered unimportant.
