United Peess Association, (Received 9.0 a.m.) Montreal, December 14

Mr White, Minister of Finance, addressing businessmen and financiers, referred confidently to the situation. He said the banks had emerged stronger than at the outbreak of the war. Their resources were so good that it had not been found necessary to accept the Government’s assistance to any considerable extent. The war had interrupted the flow of capital and immigration. It was the duty of all Canadians to co-operate in producing as much as possible of what can be used or sold. ; .
