WHEAT VERY FIRM.
NEW METAL MARKETS.
[United Press 'Association.] (Received 1.55 p.m.) London, December 9. Wheat is very firm. Sir George Reid has had numerous inquiries regarding the possibility of a new market in England tor zinc ores, zinc concentrates, lead, niolybdenini and wolfram. Sir George has placed English firms in communication with Australian firms.
NEWTON KING'S HAYMARKET REPORT.
For my Haymarket sale on Saturday last. I had a full yarding of pigs. There was a large attendance, though the inquiry was not so keen as previous sales, several pens failing tc reach the vendor's reserve and were passed in. T quote: Slips and weanerr 5s 6d to 10s, small stores 15s to £l, medium ditto £1 4s to £1 10s, light porkers up to £1 14s, calves 2s to 15s, milk cart £ll 10s, sundries at usual rates. I will he offering at my next sale two trucks of timber.
