PROHIBITION? THERE ARE TWO ISSUES: j Local No-License j and National Prohibition IF LOCAL CONTINUANCE IS NOT CARRIED every hotel, bottle, and packet license lapses on 30th, June 1915, On 30th June, J9TS, all club charters in the affected area expire. Private lockers become a crime. If NATIONAL PROHIBITION is carried the question cannot be again voted upon until 1923. The carrying of National Prohibition means more than the mere closing of hotels, it prohibits THE MANUFACTURE, THE SALE, OR THE IMPORTATION of any alcoholic lipuor in the Dominion. No private individual will be permitted to BREW BEER or MAKE ANY WINE for bis own consumption. An attempt is made under the Act to provide for alcoholic stimulants in case of sickness on production of a medical certificate and for sacramental purposes, but as the Act prohibits sale, manufacture, or importation, where is it to come from ? Once National Prohibition is carried this state of affairs cannot be remedied for eight years. Make no mistake. Prohibition means the absolute stoppage of all liquors in New Zealand through legal channels, even for weddings and social functions EVERY' WHEE.
