THE CAUDIN TRAGEDY.
VERDICT OF SUICIDE. Per Press Association. Auckland, December 1. The inquest l *on Albon'George Grtudin, who on November 14tb shot his wife and then committed suckle, was resumed to-day. . 'I Mrs Gandin, in her evidence, said that for three years she and her husband lived unhappily; consequently, she decided to leave him. She returned, taking the child' with her to get some clothing. She rang the door bell and explained to her husband what she had come for. Her husband said: “Alright. Come in.” She was collecting clothing and whistling as she did so; she could not say why she was whistling. She asked her husband if some wrapping paper she wanted was any use to him. He didn’t answer, hut fired seven shots at her. One went through her hand, one through her arm, and the third entered just helow r her heart. She ran out of the house screaming.« v Other evidence was to the effect
that Gandhi was found deqd in the doorway in a pool of blood with a revolver in his right hand. Tho Coroner returned a verdict of suicide.
